Design ad chosen for textbook on advertising industry
Morningstar
Design Inc., a Frederick advertising agency, won first place for
a Frederick News-Post advertisement created for real estate agent
Elaine Koehl titled, “Premier Properties,” in the
1996 Ready Awards-National Newspaper Association of America’s
competition.
In early 1997, Morningstar Design Inc. was
contacted by one of the co-authors of Kleppner’s Advertising
Procedure, J. Thomas Russell, of the University of Georgia, wanting
to include the advertisement in the next publication of Kleppner’s
textbook.
Kleppner’s Advertising Procedure, now
in its 14th edition, continues to present the latest techniques,
theories and procedures common to the various elements of the
advertising industry. The new edition was released in September.
“Our whole staff is excited about being
published. I think it is an honor to have the future generations
of advertising and marketing persons referring to the work we’ve
created in a college textbook. This is the ultimate compliment
and we are totally thrilled about it. Our client, Elaine Koehl,
is equally enthused,” said Misti Morningstar, owner of Morningstar
Design Inc.
In addition to the 1996 Ready Award, Morningstar
Design Inc. also won a 1998 Ready Merit Award for another of Elaine
Koehl’s Frederick News-Post advertisements, “People
Will Talk,” in the Newspaper Association of America’s
annual competition.
That advertisement also won an award in the
Frederick County Advertising Federation’s 1998 ADDY Awards.
